Producing SYNERGY

for the Kingdom of God

sfk ministries

Our Motive

We serve because our Lord Jesus Christ called His followers to serve the people in need: In need for personal, economic, social and spiritual transformation.

Our Focus

In our serving the people in need, we focus on supporting business as mission (BAM) practitioners in Asia and Africa.

Witnessing significant holistic transformation in the lives of people in unreached and under-reached nations in Asia and Africa through missional businesses that operate in the spirit of serving the Lord and in a financially sustainable manner, thus producing synergy for the Kingdom of God.

To mobilize financial resources to support missional businesses through loans, equity or grant; and to mobilize professionals to support missional businesses as volunteer advisors, called Kingdom Fellows, directly or through business incubation centers (BIC).

SfK Ministries will strive to live up to the following core values:

  • Christ-centeredness – in everything we think, plan and do for the ministry

  • Integrity – integration of words and deeds, upright before the Lord

  • Transformation – our efforts should produce holistic transformation in people served in the end

  • Transparency – so that every stakeholder can be confident in the ministry

  • Stewardship – good and effective stewardship of financial, time and intellectual resources

  • Service – our attitudes towards all stakeholders will be as if we serve the Lord

"Helping Business as Mission

in Asia and Africa To Produce HOLISTIC TRANSFORMATION in the Lives of People through Synergy for the Kingdom of God"

SfK Ministries aims to mobilize financial and intellectual resources in the U.S. and Korea to support BAM practitioners in Asia and Africa.

  • Loans - SfK Ministries’ primary financial support will be loans. Loans may be structured as senior, subordinated or mezzanine loan, whichever is most appropriate for the missional businesses.

  • Equity - SfK Ministries will also make equity investments, but on a very selective basis.

  • Grant - SfK Ministries may choose to make a grant, but only in exceptional cases that are considered to be hardly sustainable while producing significant impact.

Financial Support

SfK Ministries intends to provide various financial support for missional businesses that meet SfK’s certain criteria. SfK’s financial support may take three forms: loans, equity investment or grant.

Advisory Support

SfK Ministries assists missional businesses with advisory support in three ways:  assigned advisor, business incubation center and e-Learning.

  • Advisor - SfK Ministries also provides advisory services for missional businesses that have registered with SfK and have been approved through advisors who have been carefully selected and trained by SfK.

  • Business Incubation Center - SfK will establish business incubation centers (BICs) in select hub nations, where BAM practitioners operate their businesses without incurring substantial overhead and also learn from their peer BAM practitioners.

  • E-Learning - SfK will design and run an e-Learning curriculum to help BAM practitioners learn about entrepreneurship, business skills and transformation principles remotely.

SfK Ministries has selected Asia and Africa as priority regions in supporting missional businesses with the following nations as priority nations.

The priority nations will gradually increase as the scope of SfK ministry expands:

  • Rwanda – Entire nation

  • Thailand – Bangkok, Chiang Mai

Statement of Faith

SfK Ministries subscribes to the Lausanne Covenant, a declaration of faith agreed upon by more than 2,300 evangelical Christians during the 1974 International Congress in Lausanne, Switzerland, further affirmed through the Manila Manifesto of 1989 and further clarified through the Cape Town Commitment of 2011. The Lausanne Covenant details our belief in being intentional about evangelization and the call to work together to make Jesus Christ known throughout the world.

For the details, please refer to the Lausanne Covenant, the Manila Manifesto and the Cape Town Commitment documents.

  • God: We believe in one God, Creator and Lord of the world, who exists eternally in the three persons of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and who governs all things according to the purpose of His perfect will.

  • Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, who is Savior and Lord, and who gave Himself as a ransom for sinners through His death on the cross. He rose from the dead and ascended to heaven, where, as truly God and truly man, Jesus is the only mediator between God and humankind.

  • Salvation: We believe that all people are lost sinners and cannot see the Kingdom of God except through new birth that comes through the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Justification is by grace through faith in Christ alone.

  • Holy Spirit: We believe in the person and power of the Holy Spirit, the very Spirit of God, sent to bear witness of the Son. We believe in the work of God’s Spirit for the individual’s new birth and growth, and for the Church’s constant renewal in truth, wisdom, faith, holiness, love, power, and mission.

  • Bible: We believe the Old and New Testament Scriptures to be the only inspired, written Word of God, infallible and without error, our guide for faith and practice.

  • Church: We believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic Church. The Church’s calling is to worship and witness for Jesus Christ, who is the Head, preaching the Gospel among all nations and demonstrating its commitment by compassionate service to the needs of all people.

  • Holistic Mission: We believe that world evangelization means God’s mandate and our privilege to participate in God’s mission, and requires the whole Church to take the whole gospel to the whole world. This principle of holism urges us to pursue holistic transformation in the lives of people and to demonstrate our faith through our godly lifestyle.

  • Christ’s Second Coming: We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in power and glory to consummate His salvation and His judgment. God will fully manifest His Kingdom when He establishes a new heaven and a new earth in which He is glorified forever and ever.
